Reliable short & long-term respite care. Rest and recharge.

The role of a family carer can be demanding, stressful and rather tiring. Home Instead can assist by offering flexible respite care options, keeping you and your family cared for.

Our respite care services are tailored to helping out your regular carer, offering you both some help when needed. A well-planned respite program provides you both regular, scheduled breaks – helping to keep your home manageable, comfortable and relaxed. You’ll also have the added benefit of a singular, regular CAREGiver, who will be assigned specifically to you. They’ll come in when you choose, and spend some quality time helping around the house. And in the process, you’ll have a new, friendly face to enjoy at home. Our CAREGivers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We can provide you respite services on a regular, scheduled basis; for planned special events (i.e. if you need to travel or will be out of town; or on short-notice when you need our help).

The benefits of Respite Care are worth it.

As an experienced home care provider, Home Instead knows the pressures and overwhelming impact caring for a loved one can have on individuals and wider family groups. Investing in respite care services has many benefits, from giving back carers flexibility in their lives to helping the elderly individual with personal care and further complex care needs.

Physical and Emotional Support

Caring can be physically and emotionally demanding, leading to burnout and stress. Respite care provides carers with much-needed time off to rest, recharge, and attend to their own well-being. This break can help prevent carers fatigue and enhance their ability to provide quality care in the long term.

Helping Reduce Stress

Providing care for an elderly family member can be overwhelming, especially when balancing multiple responsibilities such as work, family, and personal life. Respite care gives carers the opportunity to temporarily step away from their duties, alleviating stress and allowing them to focus on other aspects of their life. This break can improve overall mental health and reduce feelings of isolation and guilt often experienced by families..

Strengthening Relationships

Continuous caring responsibilities can strain family relationships, causing tension and conflicts among family members. Respite care allows family carers to spend quality time with their elderly loved ones without the stress of caring duties. It fosters stronger family bonds by enabling both parties to enjoy each other's company without the added pressure of caring tasks. Additionally, respite care providers can offer professional support and expertise, enhancing the overall quality of care provided to the elderly individual.
