Professional and personal dementia care.

Research suggests that for those experiencing memory loss, the best place to be is within the familiar surroundings of your home.

With Home Instead, your personally assigned CAREGiver can help you handle all your regular day-to-day tasks and help make living at home as simple and stress-free as possible.

Our unique approach to Alzheimer’s
and Dementia Care

At Home Instead, our care is centered around helping those with dementia to continue living independently at home. We believe in prioritising your safety and independence, and maintaining your highest quality of life.

Having pioneered memory care training, and by continuously working to develop Australia’s first best practice training program for educated, in-home CAREGivers, our high-quality Dementia Training Program equips our CAREGivers to deliver distinctive memory care, based on research and experience. Rather than focusing on the diagnosis and symptoms, our world-class dementia care focuses on maximising abilities and maintaining your/your loved ones independence and dignity.

Our relationship-based approach to dementia care enables Home Instead CAREGivers to provide you with personalised care that:

  • Helps you remain safe and calm at home
  • Encourages engagement in mind-stimulating and reminiscence activities
  • Provides nutritious meals
  • Creates social interaction and companionship
  • Helps with your activities of daily living
  • Provides respite care for your loved ones .

We don’t just provide this training to our professional CAREGivers. We know family carers are looking for help too. That’s why we also provide education and support for family members and caregivers who help support you.

Carol – Her Story

“My Mum had a stroke 4 years ago and she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I’ve tried to get the right help for a long time and then I found Home Instead. The team have supported and helped me through everything. The services are very reliable, personal, genuine, caring, and understanding. If there is ever something that’s needed, they are onto it straight away, they will ring me and the communication is always comforting, happy, and always nice – I wouldn’t recommend anyone else” – Carol, Geelong
