Who Are Our Clients?
At Home Instead we provide quality in-home care and companionship for older Australians.
Our services include assistance with personal care, light household duties, meal preparation, medication reminders and transport to appointments, shopping and social outings. But who are the people we care for?
Below are some of the seniors we have helped at Home Instead.
Peter
Peter recently suffered a heart attack and was ordered by his medical team to take it easy with no driving or heavy lifting for six weeks. Home Instead drove Peter to do his weekly shopping, carried the bags to the car, into the house and helped Peter unpack his groceries. Home Instead CAREGivers did Peter’s laundry so he could avoid the repeated bending down and reaching up that comes with using washing machines and clothes lines. They also drove Peter to various social functions which helped him remain social and in good spirits whilst he was recovering. After six weeks of help from Home Instead, Peter was fully recovered and back to his independent self.
Maureen
Maureen’s husband is terminally ill with cancer. Maureen is his full time carer. As his condition deteriorates, her role has become increasingly demanding, stressful and all-consuming. Home Instead helps Maureen and her husband, providing two hours of respite care, three times a week. Home Instead CAREGivers provide Maureen’s husband quality care and companionship for a few hours a week, allowing her to get out of the house, get things done, play a game of tennis with friends, socialise and relax with peace of mind that her husband is in good care at home.
Shirley
At 93, Shirley is in good health but was struggling with her housekeeping and everyday tasks. Home Instead CAREGivers help Shirley two days a week with light housekeeping duties like vacuuming, washing the pots, cleaning the bathrooms, changing bed linen and doing laundry all whilst enjoying Shirley’s company and her stories of days gone by.
Home Instead is committed to enhancing the lives of ageing adults and their families. If you are in need of some home help or personal care and assistance, please contact your local Home Instead office to learn more about how we can help you and your family.
