What are Home Care Packages?

Home care packages are made up of a group of care services that supports seniors to continuing living independently at home with choice, flexibility and control.

Home Care Packages can be fully or partly government-funded determined by the seniors’ care requirements. The subsidy is paid directly to your Home Care Package provider of choice.

Home Instead assists ageing adults in choosing the right care services for their individual needs, as well as helping to coordinate and manage the services in their custom Home Care Package.

Levels of Home Care Packages

There are four levels of Home Care Packages with varying levels of care needs, starting at Level One for basic needs, up to Level Four for seniors with the highest level of care needs.

Typically, more seniors are eligible for Level One services (basic care requirements), and less people fit into the higher levels of packages.

Seniors must take an aged care assessment to determine which level of care packages they are entitled to. The amount of subsidy you receive from the government increases with each level. If you require additional services than your Home Care Package provides, you can simply purchase additional home care services as you require.

What types of services can I access under my Home Care Package?
