If you are thinking of arranging home care for your aged loved one, but were concerned about who would be looking after them, let us put your mind at rest.

At Home Instead, we pride ourselves on the caring, compassionate nature of our professional CAREGivers – in fact they are precisely the sort of people we’d like to be there for our own dear mums and dads if ever they needed home care services.

The secret lies is finding the right people to start with, and then training them to be the best caregivers they could possibly be.

All our candidates are mature people who have a respect for and an interest in older people. The majority of our CAREGivers come with personal experience, having cared for their own loved ones and a desire to do so for others  find bringing joy and happiness to their elders is immensely satisfying and personally rewarding.

As you would expect, our CAREGivers come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, past occupations and have various hobbies and interests. There are men and women ranging in age from a mature 25 up to a youthful 70 years.

Importantly, all CAREGivers are personally matched to their clients, based on a number of factors including preferences and requirements.

We know that people are wary of change which is why consistency is the key. We ensure that there is consistency of CAREGiver, communication and service, regardless of your changing needs and circumstances.

Thoroughly screened, fully insured and quality trained.

As CAREGivers-to-be have a vitally important job – looking after the most significant and most vulnerable people in our lives – it is crucial that they are:

  • Reliable
  • Dependable
  • Competent
  • Capable
  • Honest
  • Trustworthy
  • Professional
  • Friendly
  • Personable
  • Smart, and
  • Sensible.

To this end, candidates undergo pre-employment checks including screening for mandatory requirements, structured interviews, comprehensive reference and criminal background checks.

Then, and only then, will they be allowed to join the team of caregivers at Home Instead and help to cater to our clients’ personal and lifestyle needs.

From there they will be trained to provide quality care services via our unique in-house training program. This is compulsory for all new caregivers, regardless of their previous training and experience. Upon completion, Home Instead CAREGivers can go on to obtain a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, a formal, national accreditation through our registered training partner.

In addition to their comprehensive training, all Home Instead CAREGivers are fully insured by us for workers compensation, public liability and professional indemnity so both you and the people who care for you are 100% taken care of with Home Instead.

So THAT is the calibre of the people who will be looking after your aged loved ones.
