MND Victoria
MND Victoria provides services and support to anyone in Victoria or Tasmania who is impacted by Motor Neurone Disease. The organisation provides a first point of contact as well as information and ongoing support at no cost to the person living with MND. An equipment loan service is also available at no cost. MND Victoria will use the donation to fund more information and education services.
“With MND, it’s usually about 27 months from diagnosis to death. There is no cure and no effective treatments” MND Victoria CEO Kate Johnson says. “There are 470 people living with MND in Victoria at any one time and we believe we provide support to 95% of those people.”
Home Instead Melbourne Outer North East Franchise Owner Karen Conte said Home Instead CAREGivers are often part of a support team caring for those living with MND and she felt it was important to contribute to the work of MND Victoria.
“MND Victoria provides comprehensive care to those with MND from the day of diagnosis through the extensive provision of education and information services, their allocation of an advisor to each client, and their equipment bank,” Karen said.
“We are pleased to be able to support this important work through this donation.”
