In December 2019, I was a proud recipient of CAREGiver of the Quarter and then in January 2020, I was welcomed into the office to be part of the People Experience team to support CAREGiver’s in the Learning and Development space. I still support my long term clients and love the two roles. My journey started originally with completing Certificate III in Travel and Tourism where I worked for many years organising River Cruises and coach tours throughout Europe and the USA, I learnt many aspects of the Travel Industry. I still enjoy travelling and have visited USA, Canada in the last few years. My dream is to see more of this amazing world we live in.

Care Services Manager

I am the Care Services Manager at Home Instead Hornsby and Hills. I am originally from the UK, where I trained and worked as a nurse for ten years, including nursing in Saudi Arabia. I then had the opportunity to teach English in Japan. In 2018, I joined Home Instead and I am proud to be part of a team that serves our community. We provide high quality in-home care for older people. Part of my role is matching our CAREGiver’s with client needs to maximize their independence and safety so they can remain living at home. My role is extremely rewarding. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, rugby union and long walks on the beach.

Quality Services Manager

I have been with Home Instead Hornsby and Hills for over 8 years, initially as a Care Coordinator then a few years later I moved into the role of Quality Services Manager where I can focus on improvement and compliance.
My background in programming and Business Process Design has helped me support the implementation of the Relationship Management System and aim for best practice and managing the Care Coordination Team.
I have enjoyed the various development opportunities offered to me at Home Instead and I’m now working to further develop and grow our Team.
“Working for Home Instead is unlike any other role, it is rewarding, ever changing and a dynamic workplace”. Lisa also enjoys spending time with her family and many pets and is looking forward to more travelling in the future.

Care Coordinator

I joined Home Instead as a Care co-ordinator in March 2019 coming from a role in sales and property management in retirement resorts and villages across NSW. It was this role that made me realise how much I missed connecting with our older Australians on a daily basis as prior to this I worked as Acting Manager in Community Services in Aged Care for Kopwa Ltd. I have always been community focused and I had a role as a PA in fundraising for the Cancer Council this was very rewarding for me, events such as The Terry Fox Run, The Posh Auction and Daffodil Day were part of my portfolio.

My early career was as a Scientific Officer in Microbiology, a research position at POW Hospital in Sydney. Part of this role was to manage and co-ordinate a National Quality Control measure for antibiotic resistance testing.
My current role as care co-ordinator is both challenging and rewarding; requiring multi-tasking and thinking on your feet. Perfect for me. I really enjoy being part of a great, dynamic and dedicated team.

My passions include metaphysics – mainly Numerology and Astrology and creative interests such as pet portraits in pastels, graphite and pencil and mosaics. Unable to sit still for long I always have a project on the go. And amongst all this I have also been a Justice of the Peace for many years.
