Meet our team of caring, compassionate professionals, dedicated to providing you and your family the best in-home care and support for your individual needs and preferences.

Our Team

Franchise Owners

Myles & Virginia Beaufort

We have devoted the last 10 years to providing the highest quality home care and companionship for older people in East Brisbane. We set up Home Instead Senior Care after experiencing an amazing home care situation, when one of our parents were terminally ill. We feel that the combination of the personalised care and being able to remain in the family home, helped extend their life significantly.

We dedicate our working life to recruiting truly caring people who want to make a difference to older people’s lives, carefully matching caregivers to clients based on common interests to build strong relationships. Respecting how each client would like to be cared for is at the heart of our Home Instead visits which last a minimum of two hours, so there’s no rushed care.

We have also recognised that needing help to continue living in your own home is just one part of getting older and we believe that support to stay socially active is equally as important in the care equation. We have helped take clients on cruises to the Pacific Islands on the one hand, and on the other, to regular outdoor Pilates classes at Southbank!

Over the last ten years we have seen ever increasing demand for our specialised dementia care & our skills in ensuring end of life care, can be maintained in the home.

Being a Caregiver takes dedication, commitment, guts and courage. To have such responsibility for an older person is huge and we respect and admire every single one of our amazing team.

Client Services Manager

Gai Stewart

I started with Home Instead as a CAREGiver, culminating with becoming CAREGiver of the year for 2014. This allowed me to gain valuable experience which I utilise to enhance my role as Client Services Manager. I have professional experience of running a family business with my husband for 10 years and working in public relations, amongst other roles.

I spend most of my time out of the office networking with health care professionals and other industry related specialists, ensuring they are kept abreast with all that is happening at Home Instead Senior Care. I also spend time talking to seniors groups, community clubs and other community organisations so that they are aware of the private care solutions available to them.

The other side of my role is to meet with perspective new clients and their families to discuss their care needs and the services we can provide to them and then see them through process of commencing private care.

My husband and I are avid travellers, favourites include Scotland and Italy.  Although I will tell you after we purchased a caravan… Australia is just perfect! Courtesy of Banjo Paterson, “and at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars”.

Care Manager

Brad Baumann

Hi, my name is Brad and I’m the Care Manager here at the East Brisbane, Ipswich and Brisbane South Office’s.

I started my Home Instead journey in 2016 as a scheduling co-ordinator where I was able to start building strong relationships, after 6 months in the position I was asked by my family to take some leave and help them manage my own families business. Less than 2 years later after having finished my contribution to the business I was given the opportunity to return back to Home Instead as Care Manager. I felt great pleasure and satisfaction in returning and being able to continue on with the journey in contributing to the high quality of compassionate care that we pride ourselves on here at Home Instead Senior Care.

Previous to Home Instead I spent over 10 years working in private healthcare within hospitals. I than transitioned into the community aged care sector where I case managed a large number of HCP clients. Being aware of the points of difference Home Instead has compared to other organisations, I couldn’t help but want to be a part in their mission in changing the face of aging. In my personal time I enjoy the summer months most of all as I love spending time by the beach, going on long walks and attending live concerts. It is my goal to one day visit many tropical beaches around the world and tick them off my bucket list. Family is of the utmost importance to me and I spend a lot of time on weekends with my father, brother, sister and niece as well as our a larger extended family.

Recruitment & Engagement Officer

Vibeke Thomsen

Hi, my name is Vib (or Vibeke).  I started my exciting journey as Recruitment and Retention Officer with HISC in July 2019. Having now lived in Australia for 17 years, I originate from Denmark and have a background in agency recruitment of 25 years, working in Europe and Japan as well as NZ and Australia where I founded my own recruitment agencies. I am grateful for what the corporate world taught me over the years, however, at this stage of my life I have re-evaluated my sense of purpose and now feel I have found my new “home”.  Working with HISC is different to anywhere else I have worked because we are “family” working towards meaningful and rewarding goals which are impacting some of our society’s most fragile citizens, and I am so lucky to meet inspiring CAREGivers with inspiring stories and hearts of gold. I live in the bayside and enjoy spending time on the beaches or on the waters of beautiful Morton Bay with my grown-up sons, my gorgeous little granddaughter and Max, my funny Dalmatian who can actually smile.

Finance Officer

Gayle Reid

Hi, my name is Gayle and I am the Finance Officer, I have just had my one year anniversary with Home Instead Senior Care East Brisbane.

I love my finance role as it brings me into contact with so many different people and services from day to day.

I have been in financial roles for the majority of my career in many different industries including banking and law.

I live in Ipswich with my partner Matt, in our spare time we are renovating our 1930’s Queenslander which has turned out to be quite an epic task.

We are involved in the local community in Ipswich such as Saturday Park Run with is a free community initiative to get people out and active.

We love to visit all of the trendy cafes and restaurants in the Ipswich area of which there are many, Ipswich is a fast-growing area and many as I do commute to Brisbane for work

We also love travelling and have visited Japan most recently, with trips to New Zealand Vietnam and Cambodia in the last few years.  We also love seeing the sights Australia has to offer and travel domestically during the year mostly on our Honda Goldwing which we love to jump on and get some fresh air on the weekends.

Client Services Coordination Team Leader

Donna-Jo Ratcliffe

Hi, my name is Donna-Jo (or Donna, or DJ) and I’m the Team Leader of our Client Services Coordination team here at the East Brisbane office.

I started my Home Instead journey in May 2016 in an Admin role. I was promoted to the Client Services Coordinator role in January 2017 and then again to the Client Services Coordination Team Leader role in November 2018. I love being able to work in a position that allows me to use my strengths to help people, whether that’s our Clients, our CAREGivers, or other members of the office staff.

Having suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the past, I know what it’s like to have to rely on assistance from others to help in maintaining your independence, and that’s why I’ve found working for Home Instead to be a very rewarding experience.

In my spare time you’ll find me in my cactus garden, cruising in my classic Mercedes-Benz or working away in my sewing room creating all sorts of things with different threads and fabrics.

I’m looking forwarding to working towards more senior roles within Home Instead Senior Care in the future and continuing to do my bit to change the face of aging however I can.

Client Care Coordinator

Gabriela La Budde

Hi, I’m Gabriela (Gabby) and I started as a CAREGiver with Home Instead in February 2019 visiting clients in their homes in Ipswich and East Brisbane. This was an incredible experience for me as a mother with three adult children and one teenager, returning to work after being a stay at home mum for twenty years. The opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of the people I was providing care for, meant that I felt I was contributing in a meaningful way while doing work that I enjoyed.

I joined the office team initially by assisting with after hours and weekend coverage, and then as a part-time scheduling assistant. I enjoyed working with the team in the office, and I was able to start helping with some of the training sessions and other office duties. I was offered a permanent position in the office starting in November 2019 and gladly became a full- time member of the team.

At home I enjoy reading, movies, and there are a few TV series that I follow religiously!! With our youngest son starting high school last year, and two of our adult children still living at home there is always something happening with family and friends. I am qualified in beauty therapy and  therapeutic massage, and I enjoy being able to help people to relax and feel good about themselves when I get the chance.

As a family we enjoy travelling Australia and have had a taste of the many beautiful things there are to see. We have travelled and stayed along the Great Ocean Road, The Great Alpine Road, and the Whitsundays. As well as the Blue Mountains, Gippsland, Carnarvon Gorge, and The Grampians. We hope to be able see more of this amazing country and would like to spend some time exploring in a caravan.

Executive Assistant

Natasha Robbie

Hi, I’m Natasha (Tash) the Executive Assistant here at Home Instead Senior Care, East Brisbane.

I started my Home Instead Senior Care journey in March 2019 in an Admin role and was promoted to the Executive Assistant in November 2019. During my time in admin, I enjoyed daily contact with our CAREGivers and Clients. With my change as the Executive Assistant, I look forward to monitoring and organising internal office matters and working closely with Myles and Gin.

I’m originally from Canberra and have lived and worked around Australia (ACT, WA and QLD) in various administration roles. My furthest venture was to Western Australia where I lived in Kalgoorlie and worked at KCGM, Australia’s largest Gold Mine. My husband and I moved to Brisbane in 2013, we love the warmer weather and now call Brisbane our home.

In between my working career, I was at home for 3.5 years raising my two boys who are now 3 and 4. The boys have a 15 month age gap and I’m always asked if they’re twins. Starting with Home Instead Senior Care was exciting being my first position back to the workforce. Home Instead Senior Care were very welcoming with my return to work.

Outside of the office I enjoy being active, traveling and taking trips to the beach with my family.

I look forward to helping with the smooth running of our Home Instead Senior Care office and aim to bring my professional and personal experiences to my role.

In my spare time you will find me relaxing at the beach, exploring nature parks and waterfalls, and trying out new restaurants around the city with friends or family.

As a Client & CAREGiver Support Officer, I ensure the office runs smoothly in day-to-day operations, all compliance records are current, and that I am a welcoming face and voice to the business.
