Our Team

Franchise Owners

Myles & Virginia Beaufort

We have devoted to providing the highest quality home care and companionship for older people in East Brisbane since 2010. We set up Home Instead after experiencing an amazing home care situation, when one of our parents were terminally ill. We feel that the combination of the personalised care and being able to remain in the family home, helped extend their life significantly.

We dedicate our working life to recruiting truly caring people who want to make a difference to older people’s lives, carefully matching caregivers to clients based on common interests to build strong relationships. Respecting how each client would like to be cared for is at the heart of our Home Instead visits which last a minimum of two hours, so there’s no rushed care.

We have also recognised that needing help to continue living in your own home is just one part of getting older and we believe that support to stay socially active is equally as important in the care equation. We have helped take clients on cruises to the Pacific Islands on the one hand, and on the other, to regular outdoor Pilates classes at Southbank!

Over the last ten years we have seen ever increasing demand for our specialised dementia care & our skills in ensuring end of life care, can be maintained in the home.

Being a Caregiver takes dedication, commitment, guts and courage. To have such responsibility for an older person is huge and we respect and admire every single one of our amazing team.

Finance Manager

Gayle

Hi, my name is Gayle and I am the Finance Officer, I have just had my one year anniversary with Home Instead East Brisbane.

I love my finance role as it brings me into contact with so many different people and services from day to day.

I have been in financial roles for the majority of my career in many different industries including banking and law.

I live in Ipswich with my partner Matt, in our spare time we are renovating our 1930’s Queenslander which has turned out to be quite an epic task.

We are involved in the local community in Ipswich such as Saturday Park Run with is a free community initiative to get people out and active.

We love to visit all of the trendy cafes and restaurants in the Ipswich area of which there are many, Ipswich is a fast-growing area and many as I do commute to Brisbane for work

We also love travelling and have visited Japan most recently, with trips to New Zealand Vietnam and Cambodia in the last few years.  We also love seeing the sights Australia has to offer and travel domestically during the year mostly on our Honda Goldwing which we love to jump on and get some fresh air on the weekends.

Quality Manager

Donna-Jo

Hi, my name is Donna-Jo (or Donna, or DJ) and I’m the Team Leader of our Client Services Coordination team here at the East Brisbane office.

I started my Home Instead journey in May 2016 in an Admin role. I was promoted to the Client Services Coordinator role in January 2017 and then again to the Client Services Coordination Team Leader role in November 2018. I love being able to work in a position that allows me to use my strengths to help people, whether that’s our Clients, our CAREGivers, or other members of the office staff.

Having suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the past, I know what it’s like to have to rely on assistance from others to help in maintaining your independence, and that’s why I’ve found working for Home Instead to be a very rewarding experience.

In my spare time you’ll find me in my cactus garden, cruising in my classic Mercedes-Benz or working away in my sewing room creating all sorts of things with different threads and fabrics.

I’m looking forwarding to working towards more senior roles within Home Instead in the future and continuing to do my bit to change the face of aging however I can.

Client Services Representative

Susan

Hi, my name is Susan and I am the Client &  CAREGiver Administration and Support Officer here at the East Brisbane, Ipswich and Brisbane South offices.

I started my journey with Home Instead in February of 2020 as a CAREGiver, where I was able to assist to provide personable, dependable care for older adults and their families.

In September of the same year, I was given a fantastic opportunity to move into an office role full time which is allowing me to connect with clients and CAREGivers and to continue my journey to change the face of ageing in a positive way, which I am truly compassionate about.

In December of 2019, I relocated from Nelson Bay NSW to Brisbane due to my husband’s work commitments, where I had spent the past 11 years working as a CAREGiver.

Previous to becoming a CAREGiver I have always worked in the Greeting Card and Gift industry in sales both in NSW and QLD.

After taking a break from the workforce to devote my time to raising my 2 sons I had time to think about what it was that I wanted to do to transition back into the workforce.

I began my journey as a CAREGiver after been heavily involved with managing and caring for both my ageing parents, this is when I realised what it was that I wanted to do moving forward.

I found myself wanting to make a difference in the way in which we can deliver care to both the ageing population and their families, and I am pleased to say I have found that company in which I want to grow with.

When I am not working, you will find me devoting all my time to my  2 teenage son’s who are both heavily involved in Rugby League, union and cricket.

We also enjoy together the simple things in life like going to the beach, weekends away down the coast, walking our 2 dogs, listening to music, or just simply hanging out in the backyard pool.

I am loving the culture of the Home Instead way and looking forward to furthering my career within the company to make a difference to the face of ageing.
