Our Team

Proudly born and bred in Horsham, Kerrie has worked as a nurse within Horsham’s local health care service for over 30 years. In more recent years she has led a team of six care coordinators in delivering Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre and Support for Carer services to our aged community within Horsham and the surrounding rural remote areas. Whilst working in this sector, Kerrie has furthered her studies in completing a Diploma in Case Management in 2013.

Kerrie’s passion for choice, reliable high quality in home care and innovation in age care services for rural remote seniors, is driven by her own desire in ensuring her parents, Ron and Joyce (both in their eighties), have these options as they choose to remain living independently in their own home.

Kerrie chose Home Instead Franchise as their mission and purpose aligned with her values.  ‘To us it’s personal’ is how Kerrie wants to operate her business, by making a difference in peoples lives everyday and recognizing everyone’s needs are individual and unique.  Kerrie’s Home Instead team of Key players and CAREGivers are also caring, passionate and invested in changing the face of ageing.

Kerrie is married to Al and together they have owned and operated a local bakery business for over 27 years. They have worked enthusiastically to ensure that this business has been and remains a success within the Horsham community.  Kerrie and Al are very passionate around family and both have core values that have ensured that their 3 adult children have had success in their chosen career paths.

Lindy Ellis has joined the Home Instead Horsham Team with considerable experience in the nursing and community welfare sector, including significant roles working with complex care needs clientele for over 39 years. Lindy has lived in Horsham for most of her working life and is so excited to be a part of Home Instead, whose core values align with how she operates with in her own professional and personal life.

Commencing her working life as a nurse in local rural hospitals, Lindy’s compassion for working with, and caring for people, saw her role develop into employment within the community sector as an Aboriginal Health Worker. From this role Lindy went back to full time study to achieve her Diploma in Welfare (Community Studies). Lindy believes that keeping herself informed and educated within the community sector has been essential in providing the best outcomes, quality care and informed advocacy for her clients. Being a trainer in the Mental health space has also played a significant role in Lindy’s professional and emotional development. Lindy was a key Trainer for LivingWorks Suicide Intervention Workshops for 10 years as well as providing workshops on Mental Health First aid and Self Esteem.

Lindy’s employment within the community sector has included Homelessness, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health Carer Support, and Age Care (Home Care Packages) case management.

Lindy’s enthusiasm has also extended to her local community, with roles including a 4-year term as a councilor on the Horsham Rural City Council and has been a board member for two non-government organizations over a 10-year period.

Lindy is proud to be working for Home Instead and aims to provide the best quality care that has at its core, heart, compassion and integrity.

Nerissa is local to Horsham and has an extensive knowledge of the services that are available in the area.   She has had over 20 years’ experience working in the disability and aged care sector.  Through her work in direct care, management and case management, Nerissa has developed a thorough understanding of services for people who are wishing to remain in their own home.  She recognised the importance of working with everyone involved in the person’s life to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Nerissa has studied disability and will be further studying a Diploma in Dementia Care to extend her knowledge.   She will also be assisting with Care Management and Client scheduling.

Nerissa has a genuine compassion for others and ensures the provision of the highest quality of service to our clients.

Nicole is born in Horsham with extensive local knowledge and almost 20 years’ experience working in the Aged Care Industry. Nicole has worked in the industry as a CAREGiver, Nurse, and Care Manager. Nicole has been a part of our team since opening the business in 2020.

Initially Nicole joined us as a CAREGiver and then with small leave of absence returned Horsham Home Instead in 2021 as a Care Manager. Nicole has recently completed a Diploma of Dementia Care, through the University of Tasmania and in partnership with Home Instead.  Nicole’s passion too further her knowledge in the field has allowed her to deliver dementia specific care, not only too the person living with dementia but their families and CAREGivers.

Nicole is passionate about older people, ensuring people access to the appropriate level of supports, up to date relevant information along with personal choices whilst living in their own home and engaging in their community. Nicole only wants the best for her clients by delivering excellent care that is client driven, focuses on aged care services that support independence and enable people to remain living in their own homes and being a part of the bigger community.

Di Joined the Horsham Home Instead team in 2021 as Administration Assistant. Di is excited to be part of an organisation that provides meaningful support and essential services to valued Home Instead Clients.

Di has 18 years previous experience in HR, Payroll and Finance Administration in the Aged and Disability Sector for our Local Council Services.

Di’s sound background in communication, customer service and operational excellence allows her to connect well with both

the CAREGivers and Clients. Di is dedicated to helping others and prides herself on being organised. This is either in our growing office setting or working with the diverse range of people and Service Providers she comes into contact with in Aged Care. Her dedication to supporting those most vulnerable in the community to live their lives independently continues to be why she enjoys her work.

In her spare time Di loves cooking, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family…….and always loves a bit of travel.

Christie joined the Home Instead team in July 2022 as our Clinical Care Manager. Christie is local to Horsham and has had many years’ experiences in the health care industry. From a young age Christie commenced her caring and nursing career as an Enrolled Nurse and went onto further advance to a Registered Nurse Division1.

Christie has worked extensively in many valued areas of nursing and has developed a very diverse and sound knowledge in the Operating suite, Acute, District Nursing, Dialysis and Aged Care. Christie is highly motivated, friendly, caring and has the utmost respect for her clients and colleagues.

Nursing and care for others is something that Christie is very passionate about, together with her own personal and professional experiences Christie appreciates and values what caring brings to a community.  Being able to support ageing adults, assisting them to reman living independently with support and advancing her knowledge in aged care sector, is what has motivated Christie to be a part of Home Instead.

Christie is enjoying the opportunity to work in a well-supported environment, with a friendly, motivated and highly experienced team whose values jointly align with her own and Home Instead. Christie is eager to develop the new role as Clinical Care Manager and is dedicated to providing the best possible care to our Home Instead Clients and her community.

Susie Martin was made aware about Home Instead through one CAREGivers. So impressed by the Horsham team and their diverse wealth of knowledge and experience. Susie knew she wanted to be a part of the team which had strong core values and that enhanced the lives of aging adults and their families. In April 2022 Susie was proud to join Home Instead in Horsham as Care Manager.

Susie was born and raised in Horsham and began her professional career in pharmacy, this is where she gained valuable experience providing and delivering high quality care, and outstanding customer service. With over 10 years’ experience in this business Susie was too become very valued employee, that was well respected in the industry and by her peers. Susie’s greatest achievement in this role was she was trusted by her local community.

At a mature aged Susie refocussed and completed her Diploma of Nursing at the Federation University in Horsham. Susie began her nursing career in Residential Aged Care where she gained valuable experience caring and supporting the elderly in their new homes. Subsequently then moved into the area of rehabilitation in a newly opened subacute ward in Horsham to support local people and those living in the more rural and remote in community areas.

Susie gained beneficial clinical knowledge, valuable experience and was able to collaborate on a daily basis with multidisciplinary team providing direct patientcare to those that had experienced long illness or trauma.  Susie found this nursing role to be very rewarding, especially assisting patients gaining back their confidence and independence to return home, was vital part of their care. Susie also has experience in Carer Support and more recently assisted patients and families while working at the Wimmera Cancer Centre.

Susie’s sound knowledge allows her to create a space for Home Instead Clients to feel valued, trusted and supported in their own homes. Susie is passionate about providing care to those who are most vulnerable and ensuring they have every opportunity not only to return home but remain in their home for as long as it is safe to do so.

Delivering a high standard of care is what Susie is passionate about, her love of people and supporting them in their greatest time of need is what excites her about the role as Care Manager.  The prospects of being a part of very capable team, delivering high quality care to our clients and their families is why Susie feels fortunate to be employed with Horsham Home Instead.

Olivia Matthews was born and raised in the Wimmera,  at the age of eighteen Olivia moved to Melbourne to pursue her tertiary education at Deakin University. She is in her final semester of completing her double degree in Commerce and International Studies, majoring in Management and International Relations. Whilst studying Olivia held a management position with Koko Black which led to marketing internship at the Head Office in Coburg. This position ignited her love for customer service and working within a team dynamic.

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Olivia moved back to Horsham and received an opportunity in managing and leading a team at Una Sosta a local espresso bar and ice creamery. These profound experiences motivated Olivia move to Brisbane, where she operated a café in Nundah. Olivia was the front of house for the business and their social media manager.

During this time, Olivia also completed online internship with an NGO Pattiro in Indonesia. These projects work with women to strengthen their capacity for leading inclusive community-based protection initiatives within rural communities and Initiatives are supported by the Australian Government. Olivia’s role with the team was to create a policy to help solve the climate crisis that is occurring within these third-world countries.  Wanting more and a firsthand experience Olivia travelled and spent several months located mainly in the Middle East regions of Indonesia.

Keen to begin a role in business Olivia was drawn to Home Instead as a result of her own mother’s professional relationship as a CAREgiver. Looking to advance her career in a supportive, fun, and community-driven environment Olivia felt a real connection with the team and this was a really good opportunity to be a part of a caring environment.

Olivia’s role is to promote the Home Instead Brand and live the culture in all interactions, through building trust, taking the lead and sharing her heart. She is the first point of contact for the Clients, CAREGivers and Community Members.  Fielding all enquiries over the phone or person in a welcoming and knowledgeable manner.  Enter and maintain accurate and up to date CAREGiver and Client information in our Relationship Management System. Assisting with the preparation of documentation for client onboarding and other tasks as requested by the Care Manager. Social Media liaise and managing of these accounts including the planning and preparation of resources for networking and events.

Olivia is passionate about empowering seniors with the right information so they can make informed decisions. She strongly advocates for sour Aging adults to remain in the comfort of their homes for as long as possible which supports their continued independence, longevity, and love of life.

When Olivia Is not at Home Instead she enjoys learning about evolutionary psychology, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Janine Seater joined Home Instead Horsham as a CAREGiver in August 2022. Having worked in the Aged Care Sector as a Nurse, Janine understands the importance of providing high quality care and services to all clients, whilst maintaining independence and self-worth for clients to remain living in their homes.

Janine has professionally developed from CAREGiver to the new role of Care Services Coordinator within the Horsham team. This role supports Care Managers, mentoring and buddy shifts for new CAREgivers, Scheduling and supporting CAREgiver training.

Janine is embracing the evolving new role and enjoying being a part of Home Instead values, whilst working in a positive, supportive team with extensive knowledge of the Horsham and surrounding areas.
