Our Team

Owner

Giselle Siano

Born and bred in Geelong, Giselle is a registered pharmacist who has worked in hospital and community pharmacy settings for over 10 years. She has also worked within the pharmaceutical industry, monitoring the safety profile of medications. She loves helping patients feel better and working with other Health Care Professionals to ensure patients get the best quality care.

Giselle is passionate about empowering all our seniors with the right information so they can make informed decisions. She strongly advocates for seniors to remain in the comfort of their home for as long as possible which supports their continued independence, longevity and love of life.

She spends her time with her family which includes her young son and loves listening to music – you may even hear her play some tunes on the violin on occasion at Home Instead events!

Giselle holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (both from Monash University) and an MBA from Deakin University.

Owner

Giovanni Siano

Having been raised and educated in his native Italy, Giovanni completed his postgraduate studies in Engineering Management at the Unimore University in Reggio Emilia. Self-taught in English he began his global career managing IT and logistics projects in the UK, US, Norway and Algeria. Keen for greater experience, Giovanni made his way to Australia in 2011 where he found his passion in the Aged Care sector, delivering innovative solutions designed to improve quality of care in Aged Care organisations around the country. During this time, he completed a health informatics certification and was awarded a Master in Business Administration at Deakin University.

Giovanni’s personal aim is to empower as many people as possible to fulfil their own potential – owning and running Home Instead Geelong allows him to achieve just that.

When he’s not at work, Giovanni is in constant pursuit of the perfect dish from his mum’s recipe book, striving to impress family and dear friends. He is now even starting to love his footy, the Cats being his favourite team as ‘prescribed’ by his wife!

Team Leader for Client Services

Lauren Winton

Lauren joined Home Instead Geelong in July 2020, as Team Leader Client Services. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the Scheduling Team of Care Services Coordinators, and the Administration Team, Lauren brings with her years of experience in Customer Service and Experience, and Delivery and Project Management.

Lauren strives for efficiency and full use of a system’s potential in her roles and is obsessed with Microsoft Excel and business strategies.

Raised in Melbourne, Lauren relocated to Geelong in March 2020 and is passionate about community engagement and support, especially for our most vulnerable.

In her spare time, Lauren considers herself an amateur sculptor and avid gardener.

Care Services Coordinator

Stacey Symons

Stacy joined the Home Instead Geelong team in August 2020 as Care Services Coordinator, responsible for scheduling client services. Stacy has worked in the community sector as a scheduler and other roles over the past 10 years in the disability and child care fields coupled with many years in customer service and administration. Stacy is very passionate about community and supporting those who need it. Stacy is also very involved in her community and is organiser of a local annual fundraiser.

Stacy was born and raised in Geelong and loves living in her small community of Inverleigh with her husband and two daughters. Stacy’s happy place is by the wood fire at home with her family and getting outside to enjoy what life has to offer.

Finance Officer

Trish McClay

Trish has a very diverse skill set with qualifications in Engineering, Human Resources and Administration. As well as operating her own freelance Clerical Administration business, Trish has also worked in a variety of industries including Manufacturing, Conservation, Recruitment and Logistics. A three-year travel adventure with her husband also provided Trish with the opportunity to try her hand at harvesting, dairy farming and hospitality.

Having started her Bachelor of Nursing Degree, Trish was drawn to the Health Care Industry and joined the Home Instead Geelong Team in 2019 as a CAREGiver. Trish thrived in this role, which enabled her to make a real and positive difference in the lives of our seniors. Trish admires the strength and determination of our ageing community and believes that Home Instead empowers seniors to remain independent and stay in the comfort of their own homes.

In September 2019, Trish moved into the role of Finance Officer, being responsible for Home Instead Geelong’s Accounts Payable / Receivable and Payroll.

When Trish isn’t crunching numbers, she enjoys living in the country on a few acres just out of Ballarat with her husband and kids.  Having land has given her the opportunity to learn about and develop sustainable living techniques while teaching her children these skills. Having plenty of space also means she can smash out her drum kit without disturbing any neighbours.

Learning and Development Officer

Caitlynne Allen

Caitlynne joined Home Instead in July 2019, bringing with her a number of years of experience in aged care. Including administrative, rostering & coordination roles, she is a qualified personal care assistant which has provided her with great opportunity to provide support and compassion to her clients.

Caitlynne’s primary role is the Learning and Development Officer where she trains new employees in their core duties, as well as ensuring all ongoing employees maintain their training in line with HISC standards.

Caitlynne loves spending time with her family and close friends and loves practising Pilates.  Caitlynne has lived in Geelong for almost all her life and she loves the beach, especially in winter where she enjoys the peace.

Recruitment and Engagement Officer

Victoria Smith

Victoria joined Home Instead Geelong in August 2020, as our Recruitment & Engagement Officer and is responsible for the recruitment & ongoing engagement of our Caregiver’s.

Victoria holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) and brings with her ten years of experience in Recruitment and Talent Acquisition in the healthcare sector and has recently returned from Brisbane where she lived for 7 years.

Victoria enjoys working closely with the Geelong team to recruit our amazing Caregiver’s and strives to apply her knowledge and continually provide a positive experience for everyone she works with.

Having started her career in Geelong, Victoria has worked with various organisations in the community and is passionate about the future of Geelong and providing positive support for the aged care community.

Outside of work, Victoria enjoys the outdoors, travelling (prior to Covid-19) and discovering new shops and restaurants in the Geelong region.

Administration Officer

Judy Williams

Judy has lived in Geelong all of her life. She has 30 years’ experience in the retail/ customer service industry. She was looking for a change in careers and while still wanting to work with people she felt she wanted to do something with more job satisfaction and so she became a CAREGiver with Home Instead in September 2019. She loved working with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds and the fact that no two days were ever the same!

She has now moved into the role of Administration Officer in the office and is enjoying the fast-paced environment and still finds that even behind the scenes, no two days are ever the same! She is proud to be part of a team who strives to care for our seniors and keep them as active as they can be and in their own homes, with assistance where needed, for as long as possible.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her friends and family and her crazy Labrador Gus.

Client Care Consultant

Laura Irwin

Laura joined the HomeInstead Geelong team in October 2020, as the Client Care Consultant. Responsible for engaging and consulting new clients as well as building strong networks within the community. Laura is passionate about enhancing the journey of all clients and has over 15 years of customer service, management and business development experience.

Laura has a diverse range of qualifications including Business, Naturopathy and Administration, which will be well utilised within her role at Home Instead.

Laura, originally from Darwin loves living a holistic and active life and is embracing her new home in Geelong. She is a Pilates and Yoga enthusiast and is the most content when spending time with her young family.

Care Services Coordinator - After hours

Hayley Ockenden

Hayley joined Home Instead Geelong in October 2020, bringing with her vast experience in client and administrative services. With a Certificate III in Aged Care, and working across multiple industries including healthcare, manufacturing and financial services.

Hayley’s role with Home Instead is as Care Services Coordinator-After Hours, and she is on call for all client and CAREGiver queries. Hayley’s lifestyle as a young mother suits this role perfectly. Hayley is mother to two children, a boy (2 y/o) and a girl (5 m/o).

Care Services Coordinator

James Seddon

James joined Home Instead Geelong early November 2020, as a Client Services Coordinator. Responsible for scheduling client services, James brings experience of scheduling for organisations including the ‘Australian Open’ and ‘Marvel Stadium’ events.

James has a diverse skill set with qualifications including Paramedicine which has seen him working in challenging life changing situations across emergency sectors including ‘Ambulance Victoria’ and ‘The Royal Flying Doctors’. He is very enthusiastic about community engagement and support, especially for our most vulnerable.

Raised in Bendigo, James has resided in Geelong region for the past decade. He enjoys time with his family and spending time at the beach walking ‘Hyuga’ along the shore, a beautiful Samoyed pup. He is very passionate about travel and has lived in the Middle East for 8 months in two separate visits experiencing their unique culture and history including architecture and their amazing food.

James admires the strength and determination of our ageing community and believes that Home Instead empowers seniors to stay independent and remain within the comfort of their own homes.

Administration Officer

Cara Bongiorno

Cara joined home instead in September 2020 as our Administrative Officer.

Cara made the move from a finance background in 2016 to the disability and aged care sectors and hasn’t looked back. She has a strong passion for building rapport with both clients and CAREGivers and strives to ensure everyone is heard.

Outside of work, Cara has a strong love for music and enjoys collecting and listening to records and playing the piano.

Care Manager

Louise Evans-Mirabile

Louise joined Home Instead in December 2020 as a Care Services Manager. Her role involves assisting people to receive the services and support they need to continue living at home safely.

Louise has a Social Work background and has many years experience working in a range of aged care programs including the Commonwealth Home Support Program, Home Care Packages and the Regional Assessment Service.

Louise enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking in nature, listening to music and travelling.
