Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

Who is it for?
Seniors looking to access entry-level support services, so they are able to continue living independently and safely at home.
Eligibility/Access
My Aged Care (MAC) will refer you to the Regional Assessment Centre (RAS) for a home support assessment.
Costs
You are required to pay a contribution to the cost of your care.
Service Provider
You can choose from a list of government-funded Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)-approved providers.

Home Care Packages Programme (HCP)

Who is it for?
Seniors who want to stay at home, and access a range of ongoing personal services, support services and clinical care that help them with their day-to-day activities.
Eligibility/Access
My Aged Care (MAC) will refer you to the ACAT for an in-person eligibility assessment.
Costs
You may be required to pay a basic daily care fee, and/or an income-tested care fee (if you are not on a full aged pension).
Service Provider
You can choose any HCP-approved provider to deliver your care services.

Yes. Home Instead is HCP-approved, so can help if you qualify for the HCP.

Hospital Transition Care Programme

Who is it for?
Seniors looking for time-limited, goal-oriented and therapy-focused packages of services after a hospital stay.
Eligibility/Access
Whilst in hospital, My Aged Care (MAC) will refer you to the ACAT for an eligibility assessment.
Costs
You are required to pay a contribution to the cost of your care.
Service Provider
Your transition care provider is chosen by your state/territory government.

Respite Care

Who is it for?
Planned, unplanned temporary or emergency care to allow your regular carer the chance to take a well earned break, and recharge.
Eligibility/Access
My Aged Care (MAC) or Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres (CRCC) will conduct a telephone registration and/or eligibility assessment.
Costs
You are required to pay a contribution to the cost of your care.
Service Provider
You can choose any provider of your choice.

Yes. As the choice is yours, you can select Home Instead if you wish.

Veterans Home Care (VHC)

Who is it for?
Senior veterans or war widows/widowers, who are seeking home care and support services.
Eligibility/Access
You need to hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold or White Card, and be assessed by the Veterans Home Care Assessment Agency.
Costs
You may be required to pay a contribution to the cost of your care.
Service Provider
Your services will be delivered by a Veterans Home Care (VHC) contracted provider.
