For Health Professionals
Ongoing Comfort, Care and Support In Their Own Home
Home Instead offer a wide range of support services – all with the aim of making patients feel safe, secure and supported in their own home.
A Guide to Home Care for Medical Professionals
Patients are personally matched with fully trained CAREGivers, depending on their needs, care requirements or interests. At Home Instead, we truly value the relationship between a client and a CAREGiver, for this reason we aim to have the same CAREGiver providing care for our clients during each and every visit.
That way, each patient is regularly greeted by a friendly, familiar face. Each of our CAREGivers are carefully screened and trained. And only when we’d be happy for them to care for our own family, will they care for someone else’s. The Home Instead care management team, can regularly update the patients medical professional team as to their progress at home. Whether a patient needs short term care for a few hours per week or longer term 24hr care, we can develop a plan that will suit.
If a patient of yours is in need of
in-home care, there are various options that you can recommend.
Quality Training and Education
We’ve developed our very own, nationally accredited, in-house training program – known as ACE (Advanced CAREGiver Education). This prepares each of our CAREGivers for the challenges of their role, and the needs of our clients and their families. Pairing quality training with us personally matching CAREGivers for compatibility with patients, we provide a relationship-based model of care and support to seniors as opposed to merely task-based support – so that in addition to providing a helping hand to patients, a genuine bond is fostered, and the patient also has companionship as they’re cared for.
We look for empathy and emotional intelligence in our CAREGivers. Because To us, it is personal.
This program also provides a pathway for each CAREGiver to be accredited with a Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community Care), where they can pursue further training in:
- Specialist dementia care
- Advanced dementia care
- Palliative care
- Disability care
How Home Instead Can Help Your Patients
We can transport patients wherever they need to go, from important appointments to social outings.
If a person is receiving palliative care from home, our CAREGivers can ensure they are well cared for, and treated with dignity throughout their time.
Our CAREGivers are matched to patients who they’ll genuinely enjoy the company of, to offer patients real companionship.
If the clients family are the primary care and support providers, our respite services can offer both parties a regular, relaxing break. All in the comfort of the clients home.
We believe that the best surrounding for someone with dementia is their familiar home. That’s why we make at-home dementia care a speciality.
24 Hour Care
To offer a patient, their family and their medical support network peace of mind, we offer 24/7 care services.
Our team can assist if a person is struggling to manage the various care services that they receive day-to-day.
