State Trainer

The Academy Trainer will support in-house and nationally accredited training as well as ongoing professional development for CAREGivers and support staff. The Role

We have a permanent opportunity for a talented Trainer to join our Home Instead Academy at our State Training Centre in Blackburn. The Academy Trainer will support in-house and nationally accredited training as well as ongoing professional development for CAREGivers and support staff.

The Academy Trainer will ensure that our CAREGivers and support staff have the skills, knowledge and attitude required to provide a consistently high quality of care to support all our client needs and comply with standards.
What you’ll do:

  • Deliver learning and development programs to ensure the understanding of our mission and skills/knowledge required to provide high quality care
  • Deliver orientation and other classroom-based training including WHS and manual handling training in an engaging, inclusive and informative manner
  • Use flexible training and assessment strategies to support the individual learning needs of students
  •  Train and assess within the Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Administer all functions of the learning management system (SABA), including enrolments, reporting, marking classes and general admin
  • Manage the development of our LMS (Saba), and provide training and support for users including trouble shooting to address any functionality issues
  • Conduct workplace observations for individual CAREGivers and provide specific training

About you:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Minimum qualification – Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Practical experience and knowledge regarding the provision of care services for older people
  • Experience using Learning Management System (Saba), and Student Management Systems, (aXelerate) is desirable
  • Experience in managing and conducting workplace training independently
  • Qualifications or experience working with clients living with dementia is highly desirable
  • Valid driver’s license
