We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our supportive team as a Live-in/Overnight Care Companion. Are you a passionate, reliable and caring individual, available to work 24 hour shifts? Our services include assistance with personal care, light household duties, meal preparation, medication reminders, transport to appointments, shopping and social outings. About this role:

  • Live-In Care Companions support our clients on a 24 hour basis.  Supporting clients in their own home offering the security, safety and someone nearby when they need.
  • Providing compassionate home care through building trust and taking the lead to support individuals to live as independently as possible at home
  • Individualised care that is tailored to suit the personal needs of our individual clients
  • Provide personal care to our clients, including assistance with transport and general home support, assistance with meal preparation, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.  (Our CAREGivers are required to be able to support in all of these areas).
  • Companionship which may include supporting your client to engage in everyday things that they enjoy, watching TV, gardening and other hobbies plus social outings.
  • As a 24 hour carer you will live in with your client, have your own space/room in the home and be available to support your client at anytime they need, the 24 hour will include periods of rest.
  • Our services provide one on one support in our clients homes, therefore you must be confident that you are happy to provide individual support which will include staying with the clients home overnight.

Ideally, we would like you to:

  • Have a big heart, patience, and a desire to help improve the lives of seniors and their families
  • Be personable, approachable and able to build relationships with each of your clients
  • Have clear communication skills
  • Be proficient in use of and have a mobile smart phone
  • If you are reliable, caring, compassionate, and value and enjoy the company of older people, we invite you to join our team.

Preferred requirements:

  • A reliable car (with private vehicle insurance) and at a minimum, your green P plates
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Have a smart phone and access to a PC, laptop or tablet in order to complete some online training modules
