CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support


The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is designed to develop a broad range of competencies and skills. The demand for aged care, support workers and caregivers in the community sector is increasing.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
The Home Instead Academy CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support combines 15 Units of Competency delivered via 4 clusters. This course includes online study combined with workplace observations, assessments, conversations, and reflections which take place during each cluster.

Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions
Over 18 years old. Must be an employee of Home Instead pty ltd. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy test at induction.

2 - 3 days per Cluster Face to Face attendance required at Home Instead Academy State Training Centres
Vocational Placement
Minimum 120 hours vocational placement will be required to be completed within your role as a CAREGiver with Home Instead with Workplace Observations to be conducted within each Cluster
Course Fees & Payment Options
The enrolment fee for this course is $900, payable in 4 instalments at the commencement of each of the 4 cluster of units.
- Cluster 1: $100
- Cluster 2: $300
- Cluster 3: $300
- Cluster 4: $200
*Invoices will be issued at the commencement of each cluster for a full qualification, or at the end of the course for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with payment required within 14 days of receipt of invoice.
Please note, for learners who will be paying their fees, an AQF certificate cannot be issued until all agreed fees are paid to Home Instead Academy in full.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills Indicator Questionnaire Overview
As part of Home Instead Academy’s (HIA) ongoing support for prospective and current learners, HIA provides each learner with the opportunity to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills Indicator Questionnaire (LLN) before they commence their course.
Instructions in completing the LLN.
- Please complete each of the twelve (12) questions within the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills Questionnaire Indicator (LLN) – Section A – C.
- You have 60 minutes to complete the LLN.
- Once completed, please upload your completed LLN within the attachment section of your enrolment form or email to academy@homeinstead.com.au
- A qualified Home Instead Academy Trainer/Assessor will mark your LLN either Satisfactory ‘S’ or Not Satisfactory ‘NS’ and document this in the Results Sheet.
- The Trainer/Assessor will provide you with feedback. If you require additional support with your learning the Trainer/Assessor will discuss LLN options with you.
- Your LLN will be filed in your learner academic file in HIA’s learner management system – aXcelerate.
