CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
The Nationally Recognized Qualification CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is designed to develop a broad range of competencies and skills. The demand for aged care, support workers and caregivers in the community sector is increasing.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
The skills and knowledge in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory Legislation, Australian standards and industry Codes Of Practice.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must complete at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
The Home Instead Academy CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support combines fifteen (15) Units of Competency delivered via four (4) clusters. This course includes online study combined with workplace observations, assessments, questionnaires, case studies, practical demonstrations which take place during each cluster.

Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions
Over 18 years old. Must be an employee of Home Instead Pty Ltd. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy evaluation as part of the enrolment process.

Vocational Placement
Minimum 120 hours vocational placement will be required to be completed within your role as a CAREGiver with Home Instead with workplace observations to be conducted within each Cluster.
Course Fees & Payment Options
The enrolment fee for this course is $350
*Invoices will be issued prior to the commencement of Cluster 1 for the training pathway. Payment required within 14 days of receipt of invoice.

Learners will be issued with their AQF Qualification and Statement of Attainment upon being found competent in all units and fees have been fully paid.
Other Course Pathways
Credit Transfers
The Home Instead Academy accepts evidence of AQF certification documentation issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or AQF authorised issuing organisation. Learners must advise the administration team prior to commencing their studies that they have evidence of credit transfers.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for all nationally recognised training, including individual Units of Competency.
RPL involves an assessment of your current skills, knowledge and experience and how they may meet the requirements of the Training Package. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate (provide evidence) you already have the skills and knowledge you may be eligible for partial or full recognition.
RPL Candidates must be aware that they will be required to provide documented evidence that meets the requirements of the training package. The RPL process complies with the training package requirements and is conducted in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence.
The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) has a requirement of 120 hours of work placement/experience working as CAREGiver in aged care, all RPL application must meet this requirement in order to be accepted.
Successful RPL Candidates will be notified promptly of their RPL suitability and provided with an RPL Kit to complete.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills Indicator Questionnaire Overview (LLN)
As part of Home Instead Academy’s (HIA) ongoing support for prospective and current learners, HIA requires learners to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills Indicator Questionnaire (LLN) as part of the enrolment process. Should a learner be identified as requiring support a HIA Trainer will be in touch to work to develop a personalised learning plan and support considerations.
